Making Choices

If you’ve been reading for awhile, you may remember that time last year when I decided to go back to school.  If you’ve been reading for a little while, you may remember when I decided I couldn’t afford that idea anymore and had to stop.

You may remember that my idea was to go back to school to get my Certificate of Fitness Instruction through the UCLA Extension program.  Just because I stopped taking classes doesn’t mean I lost interest in personal training.

The thing is my passion lies in writing, fitness and healthy living.  I like to do everything in my power to share my passion with people.  Personal training makes sense.  Group fitness makes sense.  Writing this blog makes sense.

But going back to school costs money.  And money is tight.  But I think the better way to look at it is that it’s an investment.  But before I can make that initial investment, I must do my research.  Better research than I did last year.

This is where I’m opening things up for discussion: Do you personal train? Do you teach group fitness classes?  Do you know someone who does? Where did you obtain your license? Would you recommend that route?

Personal experiences are some of the best forms of research in my opinion.  And I want to hear your thoughts.  Leave me a comment.  Send me an email.  Just leave me some encouragement.  Whatever, I’ll take it.

Thing is, I’m growing up and trying to push through.  I’m not sure where I’m going to end up or what I’m going to end up doing with my life.  But at the end of the day, this is the path that makes sense.  This is the path that seems like it will at least lead me down the right path.  I think that’s why I have continued to go back to it for the last year.  So I’m going to start going for it again.  See where it takes me.

P.S. Can we just take a moment to wish this lovely lady a Happy Mother’s Day! (And a Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.)

A friend of mine is getting ACE certified because she says it is the cheapest and easiest. I also just found this blog about it, if you’d like to check it out!
